Read MoreAli's grandpa was a sealer for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had performed the wedding ceremonies for each of his grandchildren. All of them, except for Ali. Last summer, a year before she would marry Kyle, her grandparents passed away. They never got to meet the man she would marry. Although they weren't there physically, Ali and Kyle did all they could to keep their spirits present.
Read More"I remember holding her as a new father," her dad began. His eyes sparkled as he thought back to those first moments of his daughter's, the bride's, life. "I promised I would protect her and take care of her. I told her one day she would have children of her own and would do the same for them. Now I'm handing her to the man who will continue to protect her and take care of her. And I couldn't be happier."
Read More"You don't have to feel like you have to react in any certain way," I told Kyle, the groom who was about to see his bride, "This is your wedding, your bride, so just do whatever feels right for you." Days before their wedding, Ali and Kyle, flew to Atlanta, GA to be sealed in the Atlanta LDS temple. Now they were standing in a green field neighboring the cute church down the street from where Ali grew up, ready for their First Look.

Read MoreThe most common question I get as a photographer is: What should we wear?? Planning outfits is one of the most stressful parts of getting family pictures done. So stressful, in fact, that there are plenty of people who forgo getting pictures done at all because they don’t want to deal with the wardrobe! Every single one of my clients gets a complimentary style guide…

Read MoreMeet the Klein family! I met Kara, Dan, and Teddy on an overcast day at Gambrill Mill in Urbana, Maryland. This is one of my favorite Frederick area locations to meet for a session because it gives a variety of natural beauty in one easy-to-find space. During my time with the Klein family, we stuck to the field at the end of the boardwalk, which was perfect! We shot after a few days of rain that made the riverbank a little too slick, but this golden field definitely fit the fall vibes they were looking for.
Read MoreMeet the Crichton family! We met up at the Red Rock Wilderness Park in Leesburg, Virginia. I have to be honest, I had NO idea how popular this park was until I arrived and saw at least four other photographers there leading their clients around. It’s never a bad thing to stumble into a photography hot-spot, but it definitely makes the task of finding a spot without other groups a little more challenging.
